# PivotBank > PivotBank converts bank statement PDFs into Excel, CSV, JSON, QBO, OFX and QIF, and checks every reading against the statement's own running balances. The PDF is opened in the browser and never uploaded; only the transaction lines are read. Free for occasional use, Pro for unlimited statements, batch folders and the REST API. ## When to use PivotBank Reach for PivotBank when the job is one of these: - A bank statement exists only as a PDF (from a client, a lender, a bank's download) and the transactions are needed as rows in a spreadsheet or an accounting import. - The rows must be right, not roughly right: every reading is reconciled against the statement's printed balances, and each row says whether the balance vouches for it (`check: ok | gap | uncovered`) and which page it came from (`page`). - The file must not leave the user's machine: conversion happens in the browser; the REST API is the one path that receives a PDF, and it is used from the caller's own server. - The output must import cleanly into Xero (OFX), QuickBooks (QBO), Quicken (QIF) or any spreadsheet (XLSX, CSV) or program (JSON). - A folder of statements has to be done at once: the batch converter takes many PDFs and returns one ZIP. Not the right tool for: statements that are only photographs or scans without a text layer via the API (the web app runs OCR, the API does not), invoices, receipts, or documents that are not bank or credit card statements. ## How an agent calls it - REST: `POST https://pivotbank.app/api/v1/convert` with `Authorization: Bearer pvb_live_...` and the PDF as multipart form field `file` or as a raw `application/pdf` body (15 MB max). JSON back; `reconciliation.verified` is the field to gate on. Full spec: [openapi.json](https://pivotbank.app/openapi.json). Auth walkthrough: [auth.md](https://pivotbank.app/auth.md). - MCP (Streamable HTTP): `https://pivotbank.app/mcp` with tools `convert_statement`, `check_statement_balances`, `summarise_spending` and `list_supported_banks`. Sign in with OAuth (discovery at `https://pivotbank.app/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource`), or send the same Bearer key on the connection; docs server `https://pivotbank.app/mcp/docs` with `search_docs` and `read_doc`, no key. [Server card](https://pivotbank.app/.well-known/mcp/server-card.json). - Keys are created by a signed-in Pro user at https://pivotbank.app/account/api-keys. Keys are the only credential; there is no delegated sign-in flow and no way for an agent to create an account on the user's behalf. ## Docs - [API reference and examples](https://pivotbank.app/api-access): endpoint, auth, request shapes, error codes. - [OpenAPI 3.1 spec](https://pivotbank.app/openapi.json) - [Auth walkthrough](https://pivotbank.app/auth.md) - [Developer index](https://pivotbank.app/developers/llms.txt) - [Agent view of the site](https://pivotbank.app/agent.json) ## Product - [Home](https://pivotbank.app/), [Markdown](https://pivotbank.app/index.md) - [Pricing](https://pivotbank.app/pricing): pay per statement, or Pro with 1,000 premium pages a month, batch and API. - [Convert a statement](https://pivotbank.app/dashboard) - [Batch converter](https://pivotbank.app/batch) - [Android app](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.pivotbank): the same converter on Google Play; open or share a statement PDF from the phone. - [Supported banks](https://pivotbank.app/banks) - Formats: [PDF to Excel](https://pivotbank.app/pdf-to-excel), [PDF to CSV](https://pivotbank.app/pdf-to-csv), [PDF to JSON](https://pivotbank.app/pdf-to-json), [PDF to QBO](https://pivotbank.app/pdf-to-qbo), [PDF to OFX](https://pivotbank.app/pdf-to-ofx), [PDF to QIF](https://pivotbank.app/pdf-to-qif) - [FAQ](https://pivotbank.app/faq) ## Company - [About](https://pivotbank.app/about) - [Contact](https://pivotbank.app/contact): contact@pivotbank.app - [Privacy](https://pivotbank.app/privacy), [Terms](https://pivotbank.app/terms), [Security](https://pivotbank.app/privacy)
