PDF to Excel Converter

Turn a PDF bank statement into a real Excel workbook: one row per transaction, with date, description, money out, money in and balance in their own columns. Works with 1,000+ banks, including scanned statements via built-in OCR. Your PDF is parsed entirely in your browser and never uploaded.

How it works

How to convert a PDF bank statement to Excel

01

Drop your PDF bank statement onto PivotBank; parsing starts immediately on your own device

02

Check the preview grid, where every row is verified against the statement’s running balance

03

Download the .xlsx file and open it in Excel, Numbers, LibreOffice or Google Sheets

A spreadsheet you can actually work with

  • Amounts arrive as numbers, not text, so SUM and pivot tables work without cleaning the column first
  • Dates in a real date column, read from the statement’s own format rather than guessed
  • Separate money out and money in columns, plus the running balance as printed
  • Balance verification on every row, so a page that failed to parse is obvious before you use the file
  • Scanned and photographed statements handled by in-browser OCR
  • Also exports CSV, JSON, and QBO, OFX and QIF for accounting software, from the same statement

Why not just copy and paste?

Copying a PDF table into Excel usually produces one column of text: amounts glued to descriptions, dates split across rows, and negative numbers that Excel reads as words. Fixing that by hand for a year of statements is where the afternoon goes, and every manual correction is a chance to introduce an error nobody catches.

PivotBank reads the statement’s structure instead of its appearance, so each field lands in its own typed column. Because the running balance is checked line by line, a missed row shows up as a mismatch rather than as a quietly wrong total.

PDF to Excel questions

Is converting to Excel free?

Yes, up to 10 pages a day with no account. Excel and CSV export are the free formats; the accounting formats (QBO, OFX, QIF) and the spending analysis are part of the one-time statement unlock.

Is my bank statement uploaded anywhere?

No. The PDF is parsed entirely in your browser, including OCR for scanned pages, and the workbook is generated on your device. Only statements you explicitly unlock and save to an account are stored, and only as extracted transaction data, never the PDF.

Will the amounts be numbers or text?

Numbers. Money out and money in are separate numeric columns and the balance is numeric too, so totals, filters and pivot tables work on the file as downloaded, with no find-and-replace first.

What if my statement is a scan?

Scanned and photographed statements are handled by OCR that also runs in your browser. Quality varies with the scan, which is why the preview shows every row against the running balance before you download anything.

Which banks does it work with?

Over 1,000 worldwide, including Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds, NatWest, Monzo, Revolut, Chase, Bank of America and Wells Fargo. If a statement will not parse, tell us the bank and support usually ships a fix within a few working days.
